Queenstown is the place for outdoor activities. We had great weather today - chilly but clear and fresh! We left the hotel at 9am for a ride to Skippers Canyon. The road was challenging - vertically, very winding, in some places hardly paved and no guard rails. The scenery was beautiful and we stopped a few places for some photos. Mostly our pictures from the vehicle were blurry due to the bumpiness.
We arrived at the top of the mountain and then saw this home made museum of antiques
Then we went to the jet boat dock and suited up!
Some of our group zipping around in the jet boat!
Following the crazy fast jet boat ride, we boarded helicopters and flew to Bob's Peak which is 1KM above Queenstown. People could do Zip Lining, Luge, Tandem Hang Gliding or Bungy Jumping. The weather didn't cooperate for some of the activities.
We rode down on the Gondola and then taking in a visit of the Kiwi Bird Park.
The Bird Park was great and we saw some Kiwi in the dark. There were several types of birds and other animal species indigenous to New Zealand.
We had a wine tasting in the early evening followed by dinner at the hotel.
